Six steps, and a person at every one
A few questions
The screening takes a few minutes and asks the basics. We read every one ourselves and write back to the women we would like to hear more from.
Your profile, in your own words
The longer form is your story as you tell it, your family history included, with a mix of photographs from childhood to now. It is never public. Only parents we have approved will ever see it.
A conversation
Before anyone goes on the list, we have talked face to face on video. That is where you ask your questions too, and where we get to know you.
If a family chooses you
A psychological assessment, a genetic screening, an attorney to go through the contract with you, and a medical screening at the clinic. Every fee is paid by the family, never by you.
About a month of appointments
Once the doctor clears you, a nurse coordinator sets up your cycle. Eight to ten early visits for blood work and ultrasound, daily injections you give yourself, a phone you keep near you, and no sex while the medication is working. Side effects feel like a heavy PMS: some bloating, a headache, a little tiredness.
The retrieval, and after
Under light anaesthesia, about thirty minutes, and you feel nothing while it happens. Some cramping afterwards passes by your next period, which comes within a couple of weeks. Then your compensation, from nine thousand dollars.
